A catalog entry groups information that applies to several similar objects. For example, if you manage several monitors of the same model, you can create a catalog entry from the first one. You can then reuse details such as the manufacturer and model for the other monitors, while each monitor remains a separate object.
Prerequisite:
To create a catalogue entry, you need the ‘Catalogue: Create’ user right. If you do not have this right, please speak to your administrator.
Option 1: Create a catalog entry from an existing object
Go to the Object list and double-click the object you want to use as a catalog entry.
Then open the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select Add to catalog.
You’ll see a preview of the catalog entry. Click Add to catalog at the bottom to create it.
Click the confirmation box in the bottom-left corner to open the new catalog entry’s details. You can edit individual fields there if needed.
Here’s what the editable catalog detail view looks like:
Option 2: Create a catalog entry manually
If you haven’t created an object that matches the catalog entry you need, you can create one directly in the catalog. In the menu bar, open Objects, then select Catalog. Next, click Add.
In the empty detail view on the right, fill in all the fields you want to prepopulate for this catalog entry. You can also add images and documents. Click Add to save.
The new entry will appear in your catalog overview:
