Are you looking for a specific laptop, a scan code, or do you want to display all keyboards? The quick search is the easiest way to scan your entire system using just a single keyword.

Open your Dashboard or the Asset list, where the search bar is centrally located.

Enter your desired search term there, for example Laptop. The system will immediately search your data and list all matching assets.

To keep your search results precise and avoid irrelevant matches, the quick search does not search all data fields by default. You can see which fields are currently included in the gray box below the search bar.

To search within specific asset fields, activate them as follows:

In the menu bar, first select Settings and then Object fields.

Now choose one of the asset fields that should be included in the quick search in the future and open its settings by clicking the pencil icon.

Tip:

You can also use the search field in the top right corner to quickly jump to the field you are looking for.

Activate the toggle Part of Quick Search and then save your changes.

Scroll to the right in the list of your asset fields to see which fields currently have the quick search enabled.

The quick search is perfect for general keywords. However, sometimes you may need more precise results—for example, when you want to find all laptops from a specific manufacturer that are located in a certain room and currently have the status “Defective.” For such targeted combinations, it is best to use our advanced search.
