How do I create pie charts on the dashboard?

Here you can find out everything you need to know about creating pie charts and how to use them.

Your dashboard shows two pie charts by default – Status and Category. These two are very useful because they give you information at a glance about the condition and composition of your objects.

Click here to find out everything about the Status.

And here's how you set which object fields are displayed on the dashboard:

In the Settings menu, click on Object Fields.

Find the desired object field in the list and open the editing view via the pencil icon.

In the general field settings you will now see the property Pie chart on dashboard. Move the switch to the right so that this property is enabled. If you want to turn off the display of this pie chart, move the switch to the left.

Note:

  • Pie charts are only available for the ‘Dropdown’ field type.

  • The setting for displaying pie charts on the dashboard applies to all users of an instance, not just your own dashboard!

  • To configure the display of pie charts, you need the Field Configuration – Objects user right. This can be assigned by the admin in the user rights settings.

The order of the pie charts on the dashboard is based on the order of the fields in the list of all object fields in the Settings area.

To find out how to sort your object list, please click here.

For example, if your list looks like this:

You will get the following view on the dashboard:

On the dashboard, you can click on the individual segments of the pie chart and you will be taken to the object list, which is filtered according to the segment you selected.
