At seventhings, we help you get the most value out of your assets. The usage rate shows you at a glance how frequently your assets have been used over the last 365 days.

The usage rate is an asset field that has already been created by seventhings. You can find it in the asset list. To do this, click on Assets in the menu bar. You will then find the column in the list. If you cannot find it there, you may need to reorganize the columns of the asset list and/or enable the field in the view settings.

The field displays how often an asset has been modified in the last 365 days. A modification is anything that generates a history entry, for example, a change to the description, the assigned user, the room, or scanning the asset followed by saving.

Interesting:

Knowing which assets are used particularly frequently provides you with a basis for decision-making regarding potential repurchases or the redistribution of resources. On the other hand, it gives you an overview of which items could potentially be sold, loaned out, or scrapped due to low usage.

The usage rate is based on the frequency of use of all assets within the last 365 days and is mapped on a scale of 0 to 3 points. To determine the rate, seventhings compares all assets within your instance with each other. Your entire inventory is then divided into four equal groups:

  • 3 points: The top 25% of your assets with the highest usage rate.

  • 2 points: The next 25% with above-average usage.

  • 1 point: The next 25% with below-average usage.

  • 0 points: The bottom 25% of your assets with the lowest usage rate.

The evaluation is fully automated and adapts dynamically to the usage patterns within your instance.
