Would you like to make the detail view of your assets as clear as possible? With our category feature, you can show or hide asset fields of a field group depending on the category.

In the following example, the field License plate should only be displayed for assets in the category Vehicles.

To assign fields to your categories, proceed as follows:

  1. First navigate to Settings > Asset fields.

  2. Select the asset field that you want to assign to a field group.

  3. For the assignment, it is important that you insert a ">" before the group name. In the example, the field License plate is to be assigned to the category Vehicles.

The correct entry would therefore be: >Vehicles (Note: use the exact spelling and no space between > and the category name)

  4. Repeat this process for all fields that you want to assign to the respective field group.

Important:

The fields selected above are only displayed in the detail view of the assets if the category Vehicles has been selected for the respective asset!
