There are times where it is adviced to lock certain objects from beeing (perhaps uninterntionally) edited.

And this is how it works:

  • Go to the objects menu

  • Select the objects to be blocked using the checkboxes

Tip:

Filters could be usefull here to filter out the objects which you want to lock. We'll explain how to filter here.

Please note, however, that you still need to mark all objects using the checkboxes after filtering.

  • Click the More drop-down menu and select Lock Object

Note:

You can recognize a locked object by the lock icon

  • If you want to unlock a locked object again, select it and click on Unlock object

Displaying locked objects:

  • Go to the objects list and filter for the field "Locked by"

Tip:

If the field cannot be found in the detailed view, navigate to "Settings", "Field definitions Objects" and search for said "Locked by" field.

Click on the pencil icon and activate "Show in detail view" and confirm by clicking on "Update".

Then navigate back to the objects tab and click on the column icon and put a tick in front of the field:

  • Select the "-" field and click the "=" to make it an unequal symbol

Tip:

If you want to "lock" a locations or rooms for individual users, we'll show you how to do that with your "Permission Module" here.
