How to use Rental Management?

Hand over inventory items to employees for a specific period, manage reservations, and increase the utilization of your assets.

Prerequisite: The "Rental Management" feature is activated.

Rental Management helps you easily reserve and manage items – whether you're borrowing something yourself or acting as an administrator for others.

1. Create or change a reservation

You have two ways:

Directly in the object:

  1. Go to the item's detail view.

  2. Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) and select Reservations.

  3. In the window that appears, you can click New for a new reservation or Edit for an existing one.

Via the "Reservations" overview page:

  1. Switch to the Objects > Reservations tab.

  2. To create a new reservation, click Add (to the left of More), then you can select the inventory items to reserve.

  3. To edit an existing reservation, click the pencil icon.

2. The Reservation Window

No matter how you open the window, here you can define your reservation:

  • Period: Use the calendars to select the start and end times. Occupied times are marked in grey and cannot be selected.

  • Details:

    • Borrower: Select the person who is borrowing the item.

    • Approver: Select a seventhings user who has the right to confirm reservations.

    • Comment: Add notes.

    • Documents: Upload documents or images.

    • Reminders: Set when reminders for pickup and return should be sent.

  • Save/Cancel:

    • Save: Applies your adjustments.

3. Borrow multiple items simultaneously

  1. Go to the list of objects.

  2. Mark the desired items with a checkmark.

  3. Click on More and select Reserve.

  4. The selected objects will be combined into a single reservation, which you can then configure in the reservation window.
