My RFID scanner is not detecting any labels. What can I do?
First, optimize the hardware settings via the manufacturer’s external app. To do this, download the “123RFID Mobile” app by Zebra from the App Store onto your smartphone.
Activate Bluetooth on your device and connect the RFID scanner in your smartphone’s system settings. Once the connection is established, open the 123RFID Mobile app and navigate to the “Settings” section.
Select the menu item “Readers List” and then click on the individual number of your scanner to establish an active connection to the "123RFID Mobile" app.
If everything worked correctly, the display will turn green and the model and serial number of your scanner will appear.
Return to the main settings menu. Navigate to Advanced Reader Options.
Select the item Power Management.
Deactivate the Dynamic Power option here to ensure constant scanning performance. Finally, click the back arrow so that the settings made are saved directly to the RFID scanner.
Now the scanner should detect all labels.
The scanner is ready. How do I optimize the settings in the seventhings app?
Connect your phone and the RFID reader according to these instructions. Follow the guide to also activate the RFID scanner within the seventhings app. Then select Advanced Settings.
Use the volume setting to choose the intensity of the acoustic confirmation when using the scanner.
The higher (further to the right) the antenna signal strength is, the more distant labels will be detected. For example, if labels from the next room are being displayed, reduce the signal strength slightly by sliding the controller to the left.
The encoding of our seventhings labels is usually “EPC-ASCII”. Should you need to use something else, our employees will inform you. Save your settings by clicking “Close.”
