Want to automate tasks around your assets, like automatically sending new inventory entries to other tools? You don't need to build a custom integration for that. With the seventhings integrations for n8n and Zapier, you connect your asset workflows directly to other business tools. This saves you development time and gets your processes running faster. For custom applications or backend services that need full control over request logic, use the API Reference or one of the official SDKs instead.
Which platform fits your needs?
Before you get started, pick the platform that suits you best. Both options bring different strengths to the table.
Choose n8n if your team wants full control over automation data and prefers to run workflows in its own infrastructure. You can self-host the n8n Community Edition under n8n's license terms without paying license fees. The seventhings nodes for n8n are public and available directly from the n8n integrations directory.
Choose Zapier if your team already works with Zapier and wants to connect seventhings to other SaaS tools with minimal setup. The seventhings app for Zapier is currently in private preview and only accessible via invite. Public availability is planned for the coming weeks.
How to connect seventhings with n8n
For n8n, two nodes are available to you: Seventhings for actions and Seventhings Trigger for automatic triggers.
Start by opening the n8n integrations directory and searching for "Seventhings." Click the matching node and install it in your n8n instance.
Next, add the node to your workflow. Use Seventhings if you want to trigger actions in seventhings, such as creating a new asset. Use Seventhings Trigger if an event in seventhings should kick off your n8n workflow.
Then connect the node to your seventhings credentials and save the configuration. Your workflow is now ready to go and runs entirely within your own n8n environment.
How to connect seventhings with Zapier
The Zapier integration is currently in private preview. You need an invite to use it.
Click the private preview invite link and follow the instructions on the Zapier page. This activates the seventhings app for your Zapier account.
Next, create a new Zap and select seventhings as your trigger or action app. Connect your seventhings account and choose the event you want, such as a new asset entry. Link this event to the action in your target app and save the Zap.
