Scanning RFID labels has the great advantage that you do not have to hold each label individually in the camera, but can scan all labels in a room at once.
The setup of the RFID scanner differs in two ways. You can connect RFID guns to your smartphone via Bluetooth or connect them to industrial scanners as an external device. We'll show you both ways.
1. Turn on the RFID Scanner
Turn on the RFID scanner
Now press and hold the Bluetooth symbol on the left side of the scanner. This should now flash blue evenly.
2. Activate Bluetooth on the smartphone
Navigate to the settings of your smartphone
Select "Bluetooth" and activate it
Find the RFID scanner in the list of available devices and select it:
As soon as a connection is established, the Bluetooth icon of the RFID scanner flashes blue quickly
Now press the fast blue flashing Bluetooth icon of the RFID scanner to confirm the pairing
a confirmation sound will confirm the connection
The Bluetooth icon should now be solid blue
Important:
Make sure the scanner is turned on and searching for a new connection. Often there is a Bluetooth button on the scanner that you have to press to pair.
If you have problems pairing, check whether the scanner is connected to another device and unpair it if necessary.
Pairing as a Bluetooth device with the iOS smartphone:
open the app and go to the settings menu "Advanced", external scanner "RFID"
Select "Bluetooth Scanner" and the RFID scanner that was previously connected via Bluetooth will be shown in the list and you can select it
Connecting as an external scanner (e.g. RFD2000) with the industrial scanner:
Insert the switched-on industrial scanner into the RFID scanner
You can check whether the scanner is connected in the 123RFID app. To do this, download the app on the scanner, navigate to Settings and Reader List. Here you can connect the scanner (e.g. TC20) if this did not happen automatically.
Open the seventhings app and go to the settings menu scan mode
Select Bluetooth Scanner and the corresponding RFID scanner can be selected here.
