Before you can start scanning objects, you need to pre-select your room and location.

By scanning your objects, you assign them an actual room and actual location. So you know exactly where each object is. In order for the app to assign a location when scanning, you have to select the room in which you are currently located.

And this is how it works:

  • Open the app and log in

  • Navigate to the 3rd icon in the navigation bar - scan mode

  • Now click on Your Selection: Actual room

Here you have the option of selecting the location and then the room.

Note:

If you are using room labels, you can scan them when you enter the room. This tells the app which room you are in - that way you have chosen a preselection.

You can find more information about room labels here: How do I use room labels?

Important:

If you cannot find your desired location or room, it may not be activated for you. Please contact your system admin. You can find out more about access restrictions here: How I can assign users permission to access certain rooms and locations?

And here is how:

  • Open the app and log in

iOS: Click on Select location

Android: Click on Preselection

  • Select the location and room in which you want to scan objects

Tip:

You also have the option to search your rooms and locations.

Note:

You can also assign a scan code to rooms and attach it to the door frame, for example. When entering the room you scan the code. This means that the app knows which room you are in - you have made a preselection.

You can find more information on room labels here.

Important:

If you cannot find your desired location or room, you may not have the permission to access them. Please contact your system admin. You can find out more about the permission module here.
